Support to be ready for the FSC WHS Audit

This course consists of four learning modules designed to build a strong understanding of key Work Health and Safety (“WHS”) concepts.

Each module focuses on a different aspect of WHS and provides practical guidance to support safe and healthier activities in the workplace.

The course takes 1 hour to watch the 4 videos and complete the quiz at the end of each video.

The session will explore how to ensure a fit for purpose system and avoid practices that are not compliant when:

  • building or decluttering a Safety Management System
  • developing and implementing a Psychosocial Risk Management Plan
  • identifying and controlling Common and High Risk Hazards
  • monitoring and reviewing the Safety Management System.

This course is for all organisations, large and small, and across all industry sectors and is ideal for Directors, CEO’s, Organisational Leaders, Work Health Safety professionals, Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors and Small business owners.

Module 1: WHS Management Systems - A Principles Based Approach

This module introduces a principles‑based approach to Work Health and Safety Management Systems (WHSMS). It explores core elements such as policies, procedures, duty of care, and risk management. Learners will develop an understanding of legal obligations, practical risk‑control methods, and how effective WHSMS frameworks support compliance, safe outcomes, and a strong organisational safety culture.

Module 2: Psychosocial Risk Management - A Proactive Approach

Module 2 provides an overview of how to identify, assess, control, and monitor psychosocial hazards in the workplace.  It explains relevant legislative requirements, the nature and impact of psychosocial harm, and the steps involved in implementing a systematic and compliant psychosocial risk‑management approach.  The module also highlights the importance of consultation, communication, and holistic wellbeing initiatives as part of a proactive WHS strategy.

Module 3: Hazards and Controls - A Compliance Approach

This module outlines how to identify, assess, and control both common and high‑risk hazards. It covers key risk areas such as mobile plant, traffic management, working at heights, confined spaces, electrical safety, hazardous chemicals, manual handling, PPE, housekeeping, and first aid. Learners gain practical guidance to strengthen WHS systems and enhance workplace safety and compliance.

Module 4: Continuous Improvement - A Practical Approach

Module 4 explores how continuous improvement processes strengthen workplace health and safety outcomes.  It covers approaches to pre‑start checks, workplace inspections, health monitoring, and emergency‑response planning.  The module demonstrates how each activity contributes to the monitor‑and‑review cycle required under WHS laws, supporting safer, more resilient workplaces.
